The less you hear about your building’s network, the better. Enterprise networks rarely make the news unless the news is bad—and an unplanned outage is about as bad as it gets. In 2017, a tech’s typo at one of the world’s largest cloud services providers took a large swath of servers offline for four agonizing hours. According to one estimate, it cost S&P 500 companies $150 million—and U.S. financial-service companies $160 million—in lost revenue. Of course, the financial hit is just one aspect of an outage. The true cost also includes lost productivity and damage to your reputation. As our reliance on ITC infrastructure increases, the cost of an unplanned outage will only go up. >

Enterprises and managed service providers (MSPs) have some similar challenges in the realm of data protection. Both have to deal with expansive environments—with enterprises protecting distributed offices/geographies, and MSPs protecting many independent subscribers. Both also have been seeing production data storage and secondary protection storage demands rising. Enterprises and MSPs alike should therefore be looking for data protection architectures that have scale-out capabilities built into their core foundation.

Cyber threat intelligence is unquestionably a hot buzzword in the security industry these days. It is being used to seek venture capital and fund startups. It is being pitched to the enterprise market by providers and consultants. However, in this paper, we argue that the majority of what is being billed as “threat intelligence” isn’t. It’s data. From lists of bad IPs or application vulnerabilities to malware signatures, social media data or indicators of compromise (“IOCs”), none of these things are “intelligence.” They’re data. In this white paper, we define the difference between intelligence and data, and then illustrate the theoretical discussion in a concise case study in the tangible terms of a real-world practitioner and an actual event.

Enterprise applications are moving to the cloud, and for good reasons: The cloud offers a host of potential benefits for both small & mid-sized businesses and large enterprises. These benefits include lower costs, scalable and flexible deployment options, lower capital spending, and access to innovative applications. Communications Service Providers (CSPs), meanwhile, see more opportunities to offer more bandwith to businesses within their footprint.

Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) is becoming a popular architecture choice, particularly for businesses consolidating infrastructure as part of a hybrid IT strategy to extend compute and storage resources outside the enterprise. At its current level of progress, HCI could soon become a foundation layer for the next generation of infrastructure at enterprises, midsized companies and remote deployments. Hybrid cloud is the next frontier for HCI, with most players looking to develop cloud orchestration and workload-migration capabilities to become hybrid cloud enablers for enterprises and service providers. Today, many organizations still have questions and uncertainty about HCI: What are the most effective uses of HCI today and in the future? Who benefits from HCI, and who doesn’t? What enterprise infrastructure challenges could be solved with HCI? This report will provide data and analysis to provide perspective on how the HCI market could be evolving, and to better understand

We all know that hybrid cloud adoption is exploding, with 80% of enterprises having at least some infrastructure in the cloud. This growth includes increased use of the internet to deliver applications, sites and services to employees, partners and customers. These companies need an internet performance management (IPM) strategy to ensure those services reach users effectively, starting with DNS. Join Trip Kucera and Dyn VP, Gary Sloper, as they discuss the impact of cloud and internet infrastructure across the cloud adoption lifecycle. Key focus points include: • Optimizing round trip times and latency, from time to first byte, to internet routing • Understanding and comparing cloud service providers • Protecting your service from route hijacks, DDoS attacks and mitigating vulnerabilities. Watch this short Video Webinar and learn how focusing on the DNS layer can help you plan, migrate and optimize your way to cloud success!

Flying blind at 100G It might go something like this: Your company is a voracious consumer of bandwidth – perhaps a very large enterprise, a research lab, or a service or content provider of some description. Today you are running multiple 10Gbps network connections in the core of your network, but these links are rapidly approaching capacity. An upgrade in the not-too-distant future to 40/100G ultra-high-speed links now looks inevitable.

Risk-averse distributors may feel that the safest and simplest IT strategy is to stay with their existing "homegrown" enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. But just as sticking your money under the mattress offers no protection against inflation, maintaining an outdated system can rob you of a distinct competitive advantage. Modern ERP systems offer so much more in terms of data access, technology advances, and standard operating procedures. And obtaining a solution from a leading ERP provider ensures that industry best practices and the experiences of other distributors and end users have been built in. Check out this new paper and learn more about the advantages of an integrated ERP over your homegrown system.

The software as a service (SaaS) model of application delivery, more commonly known as ‘cloud deployment’, in which software features are accessed through a Web browser, is an excellent way for manufacturing companies to get the bene?ts of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems without the need to build additional IT infrastructure. ERP functionality delivered “from the cloud” avoids the complexity and costs that often accompany on premisess ERP implementations, and typically provides a much more favorable total cost of ownership, compared to legacy on premisess deployment. Companies subscribe to the software features that they need and can add new ones as business requirements change, without buying additional servers or storage to support new functionality. The ERP features are the same as for an on premises ERP system, except that it is hosted and maintained on the Cloud provider’s infrastructure.

The market landscape is evolving as pure-play SaaS ERP providers battle traditional ERP vendors that are repositioning their offerings for the cloud. Businesses should assess the viability of their current ERP deployments and consider the rapidly changing ERP landscape as they plan a transition path to the cloud. Review the Forrester report to hear how the ERP market is changing, and how businesses are reconsidering deployment models to better fit their goals and needs.
